Fun facts

Let’s start with your name and your first ever car?

Hi, my name is Lance. My first ever car was a TD Cortina.

What is your everyday driver?

My current everyday driver is a 2007 VZ Commodore.

Tell me about a typical day as a Spare Parts Interpreter?

I have the tasks that include dealing with the freighting companies, ensuring stock levels are okay and making sure deliveries are done on time with the correct parts supplied. Occasionally I have the duties of customer service with my interest and expertise being generalised.

What kind of problems do you deal with?

Some problems I experience are customers calling looking for a particular part that wasn’t in the box from the supplier or an incorrect part supplied by the manufacturer. This leaves them relying on my knowledge to determine the correct part for their vehicle and ensure we get it right away.

How does Auto Parts Central differ from its competitors?

We pride ourselves on the fact that all of the customer service/parts interpreters come from a technical background, we’re all qualified mechanics! We can understand our customer’s problems and deliver the best technical advice. After all, at one stage we used to be in their (the customers) “boots”.

What is your all time favourite race around Mount Panorama?

My favourite race around Mount Panorama would have to be the 6 hour. With the inclusion of some local driving talents.

If you had $250,000 what car would you buy?

I would probably buy a 1968 HK GTS Monaro.
