Fun facts

Let’s start with your name and your first ever car?

Hi, my name is Craig. I am Auto Parts Central’s number one go-to guy (don’t tell Aden haha!). My first ever car was a XY Falcon ute.

What is your everyday driver?

My current everyday driver is a 2017 Kia Cerato.

Tell me about a typical day as a Spare Parts Interpreter?

A typical day involves working out solutions for customers’ cars, pricing, ordering in the correct parts from suppliers (if needed), organising freight, and making sure invoices are correct and sent to the warehouse team for part picking and delivery.

What kind of problems do you deal with?

A lot of problems involve customers calling with no part numbers or vin numbers, making it difficult to find the right part to fit. A lot of times we have to rely purely on our knowledge, with no help from the computer, to determine the correct part for their vehicle. But don’t worry, we have a very high success rate!

How does Auto Parts Central differ from its competitors?

We pride ourselves on the fact that all of the customer service/parts interpreters come from a technical background – almost all of us are qualified mechanics, and all of us have years of automotive experience! We can understand our customers’ problems and deliver the best technical advice. After all, at one stage we used to be in their [the customers’] boots!

What is your all time favourite race around Mount Panorama?

The 2014 Chaz Mostert Win.

If you had $250,000 what car would you buy?

I would probably buy a decent race car.. V8, of course!
